INDIANAPOLIS (June 24, 2015) – The National Association of Mutual Insurance Companies today presented the Award in Innovation at its 2015 Management Conference in Coeur d’Alene, Idaho. Celina Insurance Group, Celina, Ohio, captured the top award for its creation of new technology allowing the company to provide high-level customer service to its members.
With the business tools that are available today to enhance customer service, Celina made it a point to “never do technology for technology’s sake.” The Ohio-based property/casualty company received top honors for its AgentConnect Mobile application, which allows its field agents to upload property and farm photographs directly to the company’s agency portal resulting in a more efficient claims process.
“Everything we do must support the business goals that have been established,” said Bill Montgomery, president and CEO of Celina Insurance Group. “AgentConnect Mobile has been a winner for Celina agencies as well as for our staff. The process of transferring photos from the agent’s smart phone camera to our electronic underwriting file had become labor intensive. By using the app, an agent can see what photos have been requested and upload them with just a few clicks.”
NAMIC created the award to recognize the creativity and entrepreneurialism found in today’s mutual property/casualty insurance industry. This year’s award featured four categories, with the Award in Innovation presented to the overall point winner.
NAMIC members also recognized as top point-getters in specific categories were:
- Leatherstocking Cooperative Insurance Company, Cooperstown, N.Y., Best in Category – Impact;
- Mutual of Enumclaw, Enumclaw, Wash., Best in Category – Creativity; and
- Preferred Mutual Insurance Company, New Berlin, N.Y., Best in Categories for both Mutuality and Adaptability.
The 2016 NAMIC Management Conference will be June 26-29 at the Westin Hilton Head in Hilton Head, S.C. A call for submissions will be sent out in February.
