For 15 years, Mercer Health has invited all kindergarten students from all of the Mercer County school systems to ‘Play Hospital’. This year over 500 students will attend the event held on April 7, 10, 11 and 14 at Mercer County Community Hospital in Coldwater. Play Hospital offers an interactive, educational setting for the young students to learn about healthcare. The event includes tours of the Emergency Room, Radiology/X-ray Services and the Birthing Center. Students also learn about hand washing, surgery and end the day with a tour through an ambulance.

New this year is a more advance version of the Play Hospital program, titled “Medical Exploring and More”, which will be offered to local Freshman students. The program will provide an opportunity for students to learn more about the hospital setting with a focus on career choices within the organization.
