Local Educators Take Advantage of Company “Field Trips”Posted On: August 10, 2016
In an effort to help teachers recognize our communities’ dire need for skilled workers, the Auglaize Mercer Business Education Alliance and Tri Star Career Compact collaborated to offer company field trips for local teachers.
Companies in both Mercer and Auglaize Counties provided the group of educators with an opportunity to meet with their representatives, and hear of their employment needs and requirements with ideas for suggested career paths. Sixteen Mercer and Auglaize County teachers toured 25 companies over the course of six days this summer.
Participating teachers included: Brenda Kaup-Fort Recovery, Christa Prenger-Minster, Wendee Berke-Mercer County Educational Service Center, Amy Bihn-Mercer County Educational Service Center, Julie Schosker-Tri Star Career Compact, Marcia Helentjaris-Tri Star, Kim Seaver-Minster, Kylie Huelsman-St. Henry, John Dorner-St. Henry, Karla Eilerman-New Knoxville, Kay Webb-New Knoxville, Carol Bader-Celina, Michelle Langmeyer-Celina, Carrie Cubberly-ACE Academy, Rob Schnippel-Wapak, Doug Selvey-Wapak.
Companies providing tours were: Celina Insurance Group,Community Sports and Therapy, Mercer County Sheriff’s Department, Vantilburg Farms, Safeway Packaging, Crown Corporation, Nidec Minster, Precision Strip, Garmann/Miller, Marketing Essentials, Tru-Edge Grinding, Cooper Farms, Coldwater Machine, Pax Machine, Totally Promotional, Celina Moving and Storage, Mercer Health, Setex, AAP, Grand Lake Health, Thieman Quality Metal Fabrication, Buschur Electric, and Cotterman and Company.
