Maria Stein, Ohio – Several businesses call Marion Industrial Park home in Maria Stein, but soon, ten more companies will settle on Industrial Drive. Ground was broke Thursday afternoon, where ten lots of shovel-ready land have already been sold. Among those new businesses coming in, Maria Stein’s MS Welding. Owners of the company say they are cramped in their current facility, and look forward to building a larger facility and moving the company into the future.
For commissioners, the growth is exciting, but only one of many happenings in the county. Commissioner John Bruns brought up last month’s celebration at Ferguson, and discussed the expansion of another company in the coming weeks. Mercer County’s Economic Development Director, Jared Ebbing, says the county’s low unemployment rating has been an attracting number to incoming businesses, as it shows a willingness to work and work hard.
With each of the companies still ironing out building details, there has been no set date for completion of the expansion.
