The Mercer Health Board of Governors at its meeting on June 26, 2013 announced the appointment of Lisa Klenke as the new Chief Executive Officer of Mercer Health. Bob Rose, Chair of the Board of Governors, stated that “Lisa is the right person at the right time to lead Mercer Health through the continuing evolution of health care changes.” He also thanked Lisa for stepping-up during the last six (6) months to lead Mercer Health as Interim Chief Executive Officer.
Klenke is a long-time employee of Mercer Health, being employed from 1982-1988 and from 1994 to the present. Prior to this appointment, she served as the Vice President of Patient Care Services and Chief Nursing Officer. Klenke is a graduate of Celina High School and holds a BS degree in Nursing from Ohio State University and an MBA from Wright State University. She is also serving her third term as a Board Member on the Ohio Board of Nursing. Klenke said, “Mercer Health has a proud history of providing high quality patient care and it is an honor for me to have the opportunity to build on its success and serve the community in this way.”
The Board of Governors also took action to promote George Boyles to the position of Senior Vice-President and Chief Financial Officer of Mercer Health. Mr. Rose communicated the Board of Governors’ appreciation for Boyles’ outstanding efforts in obtaining a two (2) year track record of excellent financial results. “His leadership will allow us to have the resources available to continue to meet the healthcare needs of the local community.” Boyles has been employed by Mercer Health as the Vice-President of Finance and Chief Financial Officer since March, 2011. He holds a BS Degree in Business Administration and an MBA from West Virginia University and is also a Certified Management Accountant. Prior to his employment at Mercer Health, Boyles was the Controller at Fairmont (West Virginia) General Hospital from 2004 to 2011.
Rose concluded by stating, “I am confident the organization will continue to move forward under the direction of these leaders.”
