Celina Insurance Group recently awarded a $1000 scholarship to Shannon Osterfeld, a senior at Coldwater High School. Shannon is the daughter of Gary and Jeanne Osterfeld. She will be attending The Ohio State University this fall as an Actuarial Science major.
The scholarship was presented to the graduating senior during the Kiwanis Achievement Banquet on May 4, 2015.
Celina Insurance Group established the scholarship for graduating seniors pursing a degree relating to the insurance business. Seniors in Auglaize or Mercer County or a child/grandchild of a current Celina Insurance Group employee were eligible to apply.
Shannon was the top applicant selected on the basis of a written essay about texting and driving. The judges chose Shannon based on her impressive application along with her well-written essay.
Bill Montgomery, Celina Insurance Group President and CEO, noted, “We are pleased to join with our staff in awarding this scholarship fund to Shannon, a most deserving recipient. We hope we can encourage young people to consider a career in the property & casualty insurance business and consider making our community their future home.”
