COLDWATER, Ohio – Briarwood Village, a HCF care community, recently broke ground on an addition to its assisted living building. This addition, located east of the existing building, is scheduled for completion in the spring of 2014 and will provide 12 additional one-bedroom apartments to the 48 one- and two-bedroom apartments already available on the 27 acres of land.
The addition holds true to Briarwood’s commitment to the residents of Coldwater and the surrounding communities. They recognize the area’s current need for more residential care apartments, and the addition will meet these needs well into the future.
The apartments at Briarwood Village come with a variety of amenities: in-suite kitchenettes, private bathrooms with walk-in showers, plenty of storage space, a separate living and bedroom, and neighborhood amenities which include living areas, a kitchen, dining room, a spa, and laundry facilities.
Briarwood Village is the perfect place for people who want to live an independent lifestyle but who also may need some daily support. The apartment facilities offer that exact mix. There is always support from nursing staff whenever residents need help whether that be for meals, housekeeping, or other daily activities.
The current facility opened in 2009 adding new service lines of assisted and independent living apartments. In addition to the 48 apartments currently available, Briarwood Village also offers 112 skilled nursing rooms which include short term rehabilitation, memory support, and long term care.
This addition was made possible from the foresight of the HCF Board of Directors, with special thanks to Don Desch, as well as the loyal residents of southern Mercer County communities. Additionally, several businesses have taken on the construction for this project: RCS Construction, R.A. Flynn & Sons, Perry’s Heating and Air Conditioning, 5 Angle Construction, Inc., Lima Millwork, Inc., T & D Interiors, Inc., Koester Electric, Fidelity Builders Supply, Response Fire Protection, Central Indiana Hardware, McBride Brothers, Inc., SimplexGrinnell, Due Nursery & Landscaping Ltd., Vigil Health Solutions, and David Hoffman.
